Exploring & Researching Biodiversity
This is a morning HALF DAY running from 9:00am - 12:00pm
Location: Florida SouthWestern Collier Campus
Duration: Week 2, July 14-18, 2025
Students will be exposed to the theory and application of ecological monitoring for assessing Biodiversity in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. Students will learn the theory behind biodiversity monitoring and it’s importance, before putting their knowledge to the test in active field studies on the FSW Collier campus! Activities identification of native plants and animals, data collection techniques, fish and macroinvertebrate sampling, vegetation quadrats, transects, and rapid survey techniques for birds and other animals on campus.
